We do sell some of the beautiful rabbits raised here at Garden Gate Rabbit Park. Our rabbits are gentle, purebred rabbits that have a pedigree and make wonderful pets. Many are champion bunnies that have won awards at ARBA rabbit shows. It is best to contact us by email and let us know what breed of rabbit that you are looking for. There are many decisions that you will need to make if you are planning to buy a rabbit for a pet. The rabbit has needs that you will be responsible to meet even if you have help from the family members there is a need for parents to supervise and check daily to make sure the bunny is getting the water and food needed. The water bottle needs to be checked to be sure that it is dispensing the water properly. A water bottle or crock and feed containers need to be cleaned regularly. The bunny needs their nails clipped each month and the rabbit should be examined for a good general health report. These guidelines we recommend may be a help! Garden Gate Guidelines for Buying a Rabbit by Loretta Hayward Choose a rabbit breed that will be a size and weight that you can manage. Bunnies grow up and you need to be prepared for the adult it is growing up to be! The best rabbits genetically are purebred rabbits that have an excellent immunity system. Make an appointment with Garden Gate Rabbit Park or visit an ARBA show to select your rabbit for your family pet. Plan to inspect the rabbits that you intend to buy! Garden Gate rabbits will be posed for you and we will assist you during your inspection. INSPECTION Check List: Prepare to examine the rabbit for good fur without skin problems, cuts, scars, mites, or bare foot pads. The eyes must be clear without cloudy pupils, swollen eyelids, or matter at the tear duct. The teeth should be straight and equal length and a proper bite for eating. (without "wolf " teeth or "malloclusions") The ears should be clean without scab or scratches or sign of ear mites. The nose clear of any matter and no matting on the paws. The sex of the rabbit must be determined and genitals clear of discharge, abscess or infection. (white spots) The rabbit should not have any lumps or swollen areas on the body. As you examine the rabbit note the behavior, attitude and any signs of aggression. Remember the rabbits should be at ease with the owner! A rabbit that charges at a person ( if they feel threatened) will repeat that behavior in the future. Sociable friendly rabbits also make good parent rabbits for future litters! Choose a rabbit with a friendly disposition and you will have a good pet and enjoyable years ahead! We often hear from our satisfied customers. They share stories with us, letters, pictures and special tales! People return for another bunny many times!! We fully understand!!
It's all the smiles and joy that thebunny brings!! Email us loretta@gardengatecards.us
